Network security has a tremendous impact on today’s operation of networked IT systems. Consequently the awareness of future decision makers must be awakened of possible misuses and the costs of security. This freshmen level course was designed for the Passau study course ‘Bachelor of Internet Computing’. The participants gave 45-minute presentations and contributed to this seminar text 1. Besides, we had a lot of discussions on actual developments in the security area. As a conclusion, the next seminar will
also contain hands-on tutorials on this topic.
